June Lunch & Learn w/ De'Von A. Douglass, JD

Biography:
Driven by a desire to promote justice and equality at every level of society, De’Von Douglass has become a leading voice for social progress in her community. Ms. Douglass is the inaugural Director of Diversity and Inclusion at Greater Boston Legal Services. She also maintains a consulting agency, Aurora Advising Co., to inspire and instill inclusive policy in organizations through project management, facilitation, and strategic planning.
Ms. Douglass founded and oversaw the Harris County Office of Community Engagement in Houston, Texas. Previously, De’Von used her vast experience in community organizing and policy development as the first Chief Resilience and Equity Officer for the City of Tulsa. While serving in this role she authored the city’s first resilience plan and transformed the Human Rights Department.
More than anything, De’Von hopes to expand the cabinet of the President of the United States as the Secretary of Fun and Laughter. No sitting President has agreed to her suggestion.
De’Von is an alumna of Missouri State University (B.A. Sociology 2011) and University of Tulsa (J.D. 2014, M.A. Nonprofit Management 2014).
