The City of Tulsa has a great volunteer opportunity available for Project Managers, working with the Urban Data Pioneers group.
Urban Data Pioneers is a collaborative learning program aimed at pairing city hall with a community of data analysts to better understand the problems we face as a city: crime, blight, economic development, education, and well-being. They use exploratory analysis and data modeling to bring to light key questions that lead to a better understanding of our current environment, policies, and programs.
Where do you fit in? We’ve been scoping out projects proposed by citizens and city hall employees and have created a training program for those who want to use city datasets to improve their data analysis skills. And additionally, project managers are needed to help with these efforts.
If you are interested, attend the team formation meet-up on September 6 at 4:00pm in City Hall, 10th Floor South Conference room. At the meet-up you’ll have the chance to join a team and map out a 12-week plan to tackle a project (time commitment will vary based on the team that you join).
