May Chapter Meeting

May Chapter Meeting

Please join us as April Jorgensen presents:

 "Establishing a PMO"    PDU:  Strategic/Business

PMO can be a daunting process.  The type of relationship your Project Management Office has with your business clients can determine whether you will succeed or fail.  We’ll explore what it takes for your PMO to become a partner to your stakeholders, thereby dramatically increasing your probability of success!

During this presentation, we will explore the following:

- Project sponsorships and what does it mean?

- When does project rigor interfere with project progress?

- How do we get the proper ownership over the outcomes to ensure sustainability?

- Accountability and how can we establish it so the project manager is free from blame?

April Jorgensen, MBA, PMP, is an Oklahoma native with 20 plus years of experience in project management, performance improvement, and operations management. In 2013, she joined Continental Resources where she stood up the IT Project Management Office (PMO) which she manages today.  April received a BS in Mechanical Design Engineering Technology from OSU and an MBA from University of Central Oklahoma.  She serves as Past President of the newly chartered Women’s Energy Network of Greater Oklahoma.
